Route 2: Gyula (Hungary) – Regensburg (Germany)

We will cycle the second part of the route through Hungary from day 7 to day 10; from Gyula, Rackeve via Budapest to Györ. Then we arive on day 11 in Austria. In Austria we will go via Vienna, Traismauer towards Au. On day 15 we arrive at the German border town of Passau. On day 16 we expect to be near Regensburg.

This second part we cycle through the Hungarian Puszta (the largest uninterrupted grassland in Europe) and we follow the tracks along the popular Danube route. The remains of the Limes (border) and the associated defenses are not yet tangible in many places. In this part of the route the height differences are slight with only a few slopes in the main route.

Această a doua parte o parcurgem cu bicicleta prin Puszta maghiară (cea mai mare pajiște neîntreruptă din Europa) și urmăm traseele de-a lungul popularului traseu dunărean. Rămășițele limilor (frontieră) și apărarea însoțitoare nu sunt încă tangibile în multe locuri. În această parte a traseului, diferențele de înălțime sunt ușoare, cu doar câteva pante pe traseul principal.
